The Twilight Sad @ The Grand Ole Opry

With the release of their fantastic new album (which you can buy here), The Twilight Sad are touring the country to make a mockery of ears throughout the land. As bands go, these guys are LOUD, and incredibly intense. This was a great show, in a venue I'd only visited once previously and had never shot at. Crammed up against a speaker I was so glad of the faithful earplugs that meant I didn't leave in a tinnitus induced sweaty heap.

Lots of coloured strobes made this a pretty difficult one to photograph, but it'd be no fun if it was easy would it?!

One of my favourite live bands and a great show with the new material sounding fantastic, the new album is definitely worth your time and money!

On a side note, I've just read today that Glasgow based band Paws have signed to Fat Cat, the same label as The Twilight Sad. Many congratulations to the guys in Paws, they're a great band that I've really enjoyed the few times I've seen and really lovely guys one time I nearly photographed them, but that's another story. Well done guys, delighted to hear the news!

This show was photographed for The Skinny, you can read the original review with photographs here
