Sometimes the unplanned stops are the ones that leave the biggest impression.

San Diego was an 'if we have time' spot on our itinerary, and now, having spent a few days there, it's high on my list of places to head right back to.

The city has such a wonderfully relaxed spirit. Awesome beaches. A photography museum that I geeked out in for too long (and bought a great Mary Ellen Mark book).
